Below is the text of Mr Major’s comments on the Trade and Select Committee Report on the coal industry, made in Glasgow on 29th January 1993.

PRIME MINISTER:

Well, the report has only just been published, of course, and I’ve had no chance yet to study it. We will study the report very carefully together with the other reports there have been, and at some stage towards the end of February, we will produce our own Coal Review. That will set out our conclusions.
