Mr Major’s Comments on PC Patrick Dunne – 12 November 1993

Below is the text of Mr Major’s comments following the funeral of PC Patrick Dunne (who had been murdered in Clapham on 20th october 1993), made on 12th November 1993.

PRIME MINISTER:

He lost his life in seeking to prevent crime and defending people up and down this country. I don’t think one can forget that, what he did was immensely brave. We must remember his example both in future policing and also in future methods to curb disorder.
