Mr. Wolfson To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what was the growth of output in 1987.

Mr. Watts To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what was the growth of output in 1987.

Mr. Major The output measure of gross domestic product at constant factor cost (1980 prices) for 1987 was 4.8 per cent. higher than the corresponding figure for 1986. Over the same period the average measure of GDP rose by 4.4 per cent.
